 Great chess and checkers set and a lot more too...Apr 11, 2010
This is a great set. after reading some of the negative reviews I wanted to add my totally positive experience with this set. we use the chess, the checkers, the domino, the cards and everything is good quality and works well. I personally also really like the board. it looks nice in my living room.

 Terrible Quality - Broken into many pieces right out of boxDec 22, 2009
I bought this game set as a Christmas Gift. When the recipient opened the box, he started pulling pieces of it out. It was already broken. One of the wood side panels was broken off, and one of the legs was broken off. How embarrassing to have to apologize and take a present that you gave someone back because it was so cheaply made. The wood is very light-weight, and just feels so cheap. I wish I would have read the other reviews on here, and taken them to heart, or at least opened the box and checked it out before giving it. This is on its way back to the seller right now. Horrible. Deserves zero stars.

 Flimsey, cheap and not represented well in the product photoDec 15, 2009
Wow... what can I say. I sent it back. The wood on the game in the photo appears smooth, and slightly darker with a sheen like a polished walnut... when I received it, I was disappointed to find a rough, pale colored set. The cribbage board was assembled poorly - the seam where the hinges are did not match up and was uneven, the dividers inside the box are not sturdy... they completely come out and/or shift around inside the box. The other thing that disappointed me was that I paid $50 for the set. This is a starter set for my son, and I know that really nice sets are hundreds of dollars, but for $50 I expected to at least get something decent. The next day, after I purchased the set, the price went down to $34... and was still from the same seller. I love Amazon - I have bought many things from Amazon, but I was not happy with this Item at all. The photograph is a very poor representation of the product and there aren't enough reviews to judge otherwise. Please don't make the ame mistake I did, and buy this set!

 Great starter multi game setDec 14, 2009
The game boards, cabinet, chessmen, backgammon chips, and cribbage board are all made of wood. The chessboard reverses to serve as the backgammon board. You get a 12x12 inch game board with 1 1/8" chess squares. The king height is a little over 2.5 inches and all the chessmen are carved and look pretty decent. In the game set you also get a deck of playing cards, 28 domino tiles, 4 poker dice, 4 regular dice, and 2 dice that I am not sure what game they are for. 2 plastic cups dice cups and a small cribbage board completes the set. the domino tiles are 1.25" tall so smaller than the standard 2" tournament tiles, but you can't expect tournament size tiles in a multi-game set like this. The game set overall wood construction looks good and durable and cleanly made. Under the game board there is storage for all game pieces and other accessories. The storage area is divided into 6 rectangular compartments with wood dividers to keep things separate. Overall a good starter game set for the price.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT EVERDec 05, 2009
This is getting sent back. It's cheap, rough, poorly made, glue has seeped out from the joint onto the board, part of the board was broken, and there are paint splatters all over the backgammon side. The chess pieces are small and rough, the other playing pieces are flimsy, plastic, and VERY small. Really? This is a rip off, and is ridiculously over-priced. This was my first purchase from amazon.com, and if this is the kind of vendor on here, then I doubt I'll be making any more purchases from amazon or this vendor anytime soon. I'll be sticking with companies that don't insult me by taking my hard-earned money and giving me crap in return.
